Paul Heroux faces Dumas in November Mayoral Election

The day after the primary and I wanted to share the Sun Chronicle’s article as well as a photo of Paul and I at the Watch Party last night.

I spent a few hours holding signs in the questionable weather at Ward 2. It was great to meet Heroux and Dumas supporters. I’m so happy for Paul an I look forward to November. We have our work cut out for us. I promise I won’t be political for at least a few posts.

Stay Local, XO Jax

Vote Today, it’s Primary Day!

Opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one. Mine is no more important that yours but I write to tell you that I will be voting for Paul Heroux at the Primary, September 19th.
I first knew of State Representative Paul Heroux as he is on the Board of Directors for the local nonprofit organization On Common Ground. On Common Ground’s mission is to help those in the community who are struggling with poverty (social, financial, or familial) by pairing them with a 1:1 voluntary mentor. After recently moving to Attleboro, not knowing anyone, I began volunteering for them. The organization, On Common Ground, ( believes that through social relationships we can WORK TOGETHER to build stronger community members and a stronger community. I believed in their mission and at one of the organizations beautiful community focused events, Seeds of Hope, Paul had donated a dinner for 4 to the silent auction. Never having met Paul I put my bid in and won “Dinner with State Representative Paul Heroux“. The idea of dinner with a politician seemed funny to me and not something I would ever get to do but this was for a good cause. To add to my strange sense of humor, I ask to have a 1:1 dinner with Paul. There’s nothing like putting a complete stranger on the spot with Jax. Upon arriving at Paul‘s home and being greeted by Paul and Mura (his dog), I was amazed at his gracious hosting and genuine nature. He was not intimidated by a smart mouth unicorn like me. That delicious dairy free dinner allowed me not only to learn exactly who Paul is but he patiently and kindly answered all my questions, helping me refresh my knowledge on local and state politics.  I came to find the funniest thing about the experience was the silly pun-filled jokes Paul can SOMEHOW pull off. Have you heard why he can’t eat mushrooms?
3 years later, Paul is a good friend. When it comes to Attleboro politics, Attleboro: the city I love, live, and work in; I read the paper, watch DoubleACS, talk with my neighbors and really try to see all sides to an issue. Paul is always willing to answer the questions I have. His answers are based in facts and research he’s done. Part of what I admire about him as a politician is his overwhelming altruistic behavior. He’s not the kind of person to make a decision or vote based on his own benefit or preference, unless you consider Paul‘s preference to always do the right thing by the people he serves. He is in my mind, a true public servant. He puts everything in to what he does and as his friend this is evident by his lack of social life. To say that Paul fully supports the efforts of a nonprofit like On Common Ground is to say that Paul supports the people of this community. He knows that only if we WORK TOGETHER can we succeed to build a stronger community. Attleboro needs a Heroux for our next mayor. Please join me in support of Paul Heroux for Mayor of Attleboro and thank you for listening.
In kind regards,

Creature Double Feature introducing Insomnia: Mistress of the Bite

Did you know that on September 23rd in the city of Attleboro an amazing event is occurring? In the vein of once it a lifetime experiences, this is one of those moments you won’t want to miss!

Jax is not going to attend this event but rather another manifestation…something dark and evil. Creature Double Feature introduces Insomnia: Mistress of the Bite.

Nearly 600 years of living up to her name means Insomnia has seen a lot of twisted films since the dawn of the medium. She was born in Transylvania, Romania in the late 1430’s. The exact date escapes her as she doesn’t celebrate her birthday anymore. You’d never think she was a day over 200. The third cousin of the infamous Count Dracula, it’s still unclear why Insomnia hasn’t been featured in her own classic. These days, Insomnia is often seen in the dark alleys and streets near your favorite late night restaurant haunts. A devoted foodie, she loves a juicy late night bite – hence her title as the Mistress of the Bite. Dare to entertain her charm while enjoying some soylent green beans over a  nostalgic monster movie? Those who’ve survived her company were entranced by her. Just ask Insomnia’s human pet, Bobby Vial, who is always by her side.

Find out what secrets Insomnia has learned from all her movie nights and late night bites.

Anytime I write in my diary or blog, I feel like I should start with the same phrase I learned in Catholic school.

It’s been a month and four days since my last post and these are my sins…

I don’t have sins to confess. I just have an update per my usual. If you don’t follow me on social media, this is where you get your Jax News, so here goes:

On Common Ground’s Seeds of Hope Farm to Table dinner and fundraiser went amazing! We had a blast and the food was delicious. It still is my favorite event because of how pretty everything looks. We had rain but fortunately a rain plan, so everyone stayed pretty dry. Watch my Snapchat Story here:

Then I was house sitting for a little while with Hope and Herbie. Herbie and I go way back but Hope is new to the family, house, and me. She is adorable but wow can this girl destroy everything. She ate my Victoria Secret bra from my Drunkerbelle costume and my headset along with a bunch of other things. She is now being crated when no one is home. Good think she’s cute.

Herbie is yellow and Hope is black.

I left my house sitting gig and went to Seattle for a week thanks to a good friend. We had fun exploring Ballard, Pikes Place, Starbucks, a LEGAL pot shop, and camping on Orcas Island. When on Orcas we specifically were in a Cascade Lake campsite with a beautiful view. When we were on the island I went off the grid but took my digital camera. The footage on that camera will be revealed in the future. I truly appreciate Ben giving me the opportunity to accompany him on this trip. It was my first time in Seattle and Washington state is amazing.

Upon returning on a red eye, I had work but then MY BIRTHDAY came. I turned 32 or Sweet 16 x 2. I had to work the day of my birthday but I was fortunate get the girls to help me leave at 7pm instead of 10pm. I had a nice dinner and cupcake with a wonderful guy who knowingly took on the responsibility of showing me a good time for my birthday. Most would think that was a lot of pressure for a new guy but Bobby seemed to handle it like a gentleman. You may have seen my photo I posted on Instagram.

20170831_214704I also hosted a small dinner party at my apartment with my friends on Friday night. I was so happy to have so many people I love with me to celebrate. We played charades suggested by my facebook friends and sang songs together. I literally could not contain myself when they sang me happy birthday. It sounded so sweet.

Dollar Store Gift Basket

Do you ever have a reason to give someone a gift like flowers but flowers are lame? Recently, my cousin Cassie was starring as Maria in West Side Story. (West Side Story is an awful musical, but that’s not the point.) Cassie was more than likely going to have a lot of people there for her with flowers. My mom suggested I spend the money on candy for her instead. I headed to the Dollar Tree and got a bunch of great stuff. I already had a gift basket bag and ribbon at home. Check out how it came out!

I spent $26 dollars. Here’s what was inside it.

  • 1 large popcorn tub
  • 1 bag of decorative yellow paper
  • 1 bag of decorative reflective white paper
  • 1 hair tie lollipop
  • 1 tentacle pen
  • 1 bunch of red roses
  • 1 star sunglasses
  • 1 decorative letter C
  • 1 pin wheel
  • 17 nut fee candy

My favorite was the sunglasses.

Congratulations to Cassie. She was amazing and we love her!
